Wow! What else can we say, but THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you to all who nominated us, and helped us to recieve this nomination. We are once again so very humbled and honored to have our names included in this wonderfully talented list of nominees. Thank you to all the folks who put on this event every year at The Texas Music Awards and The Academy Of Texas Music for all you do.

Bandera Duo Nominated for The Texas Music Awards
Art Crawford and Lisa Beck from Bandera are known to music lovers all over Texas as "Art and Lisa"
Their debut album "Learning to Breathe Again", produced by Lloyd Maines and John Inmon has
placed them in the spotlight once again. The very prestigious Texas Music Awards, sanctioned by
The Academy of Texas Music Inc. has officially nominated "Art and Lisa" to the 2010 Texas Music Awards
in the category of Vocal Duo or Group of The Year.
In January, industry professionals, disc jockeys, artists, and fans were allowed to submit online nomination
suggestions to the TMAs in each of the fifteen categories. After more than 43,000 submissions, the difficult and tedious task
of narrowing the field to just five nominees began. A complete list of nominees in all categories is available at
www.texasmusicawards.org. Also, you will find information on this website about voting and perhaps becoming more
involved in Texas music by volunteering or even helping to sponser an event of this magnitude. And, yes, that is a .org
at the end of the website. The awards ceremony also serves as a fundraiser for the non-profit
Academy of Texas Music, Inc.
The 8th annual Texas Music Awards will be held at The Marshall Civic Center in Marshall, Texas on Saturday,
May 15, 2010.
Legendary performer and songwriter, B.J. Thomas will host the event and will perform a concert with his highly
acclaimed band after the awards show.
Jinelle Boyd, Executive Director of The Academy of Texas Music, Inc. remarks on the quality of the
show. "These are some of the greatest performers in Texas. They're independent musicians making the music
the world will be listening to in the future. With B.J. Thomas hosting, this is going to be an amazing event.

"Art and Lisa" have been playing the little coffee shops and the bigger honkytonks throughout Texas and further
for a few years now. You can learn more about them on their website at www.artandlisa.com. If you don't already
know this duo, and you like what you see and hear, then you can vote for them at www.texasmusicawards.org.
To describe their music to you is not an easy task. Yes it is kinda "country", yes it might be "folky" at times, absolutely
"Americana", definately "red dirt" (probably from Arts Oklahoma roots), you can't categorize this kind of feeling and put
a name on it and say thats what kind of music they play.
Three of the most respected names in Texas music had some things to say about "Art and Lisa", and then it was
noted that they all seperately used the same word to describe their feelings. Soul. Not soul music , but soul.
Lloyd Maines said "their writing and vocals are so soulful and real". Then John Inmon talked about how" they
make honest music with grace and soul and beauty". Walt Wilkins, who wrote one of the songs on the album, says "this is
what the warm soulful heart of texas music really is to me".
Michael Martin Murphy, Shake Russell, Wade Bowen, Johnny Gimble, Lloyd Maines, Doug Moreland, Pauline Reese,
Hayes Carll, and The Dust Devils are just a few of the Texas legends that have been recipients in past
years at The Texas Music Awards.

Yea! Our CD was reviewed and accepted at Radio Free Texas. If you're not familiar with this website you should definately check it out. You can request your favorite songs and hear new artists and listen to new CDs by some of your old favorites. It's a great site. If you like our music please request one or two of our songs. Lone Star Music - September 10, 2009
Howdy friends,
First of all we want to thank all of you who have visited our website and especially those of you who have signed our guestbook. It means so much to us to know you are out there supporting us in our musical endeavors. We love you all.
So our CD's are now available at Lone Star Music in Gruene, Texas and online at www.LoneStarMusic.com, and also in Austin at Waterloo records. The CD is in line for review at Radio Free Texas online. Keep your fingers crossed that it will be added.
This past week Art and I were blessed to host the group "BIG WIDE GRIN" in our home. It was only for one night, but they are a really special group, and we enjoyed having them as our guests and hearing them play at Williams Creek Depot in Tarpley, Texas on Friday evening, and then again on Sunday evening at The Bandera Saloon. People were just blown away at thier beautiful harmonies as were we. I am hopeful that our paths will cross again someday soon.
Now for a long overdue thank you. Melissa at Gunslingers in Bandera, Texas has helped Art and I so much. Yes with our clothes for the photo shoot on the CD cover, yes with finding the amazingly talented Traci Goudie to do the photo shoot and all of our artwork. Yes on finding the talented Greg Guymon who does our t-shirts. Yes on advise from everything you can imagine. Mostly just being straight forward and honest with us about everything we come to her with. We love you Melissa and sweetheart Jim too.

Still Breathing - August 16, 2009
Hey everyone,
Art and I have had two wildly successful CD release parties, (thanks to our family, great friends, and fans) and one more to go. This next one is going to be at Silver Creek Bier Garten in Fredericksburg, TX. The food there is really good and we will be setting up outside facing the patio, so all the passers-by can hear the music and join in the fun.
We hope to see you all there on August 21st, 2009 at 7:00pm

Saloon CD Release - August 3, 2009
WOW what can we say. Thank you all so much for being there. Thank You to all of you who came out in support. We were so overwhelmed at the amount of people who were there. We are very excited about the feedback we are getting about the CD. It was such an honor to have John Inmon on stage with us as well as our regular band who are all phenominal. John just makes us sound so good. Every note he touches just melts right into your soul. We intend to have John play with us as much as possible in the future as well.
